The Perfect   Healthy Side  Dish

Why You'll Love It

It's the perfect side dish. This recipe always finds it's way to the dinner table at my mother-in-law's house. Over the years, she has served it at almost all of our family gatherings. Great for any season. Serve it at a backyard BBQ, fish fry, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. Healthy Ingredients. The salad is loaded with fiber-rich broccoli and cauliflower.

Ingredients

·  1 Head of Raw Cauliflower ·  1 Head of Raw Broccoli ·  Celery ·  Green Onion ·  Red Grapes ·  Bacon ·  Mayonnaise ·  White Sugar ·  White Vinegar

First:

Cook the bacon in a skillet until you have crispy bacon pieces. Remove from the pan and drain on a paper towel. When cool, chop into small pieces.  Approx. 6 slices of bacon.

Next:

In a large bowl, combine cauliflower florets, raw broccoli, halved grapes, diced celery, green onion, and chopped bacon.

Then:

Whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar in a separate bowl. Pour dressing over the raw vegetables and stir until everything is evenly coated with the sauce.

PRO Tip: Cut fresh broccoli and cauliflower into bite-size pieces for the best results. It's best if all the ingredients are similar in size.

Can I make this salad vegetarian? Absolutely! Leave out the bacon to make this recipe vegetarian. You could also serve the bacon on the side if you are having a guest that doesn't eat meat.
