The Perfect Steak Marinade

Let's add some flavor to your next steak night! This Flat Iron Steak Marinade creates a tasty meal that your whole family will go crazy for!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
  • 3 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoon Finely Diced Onion
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tablespoon Fresh Parsley
  • 4 6 oz Flat Iron Steaks

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, finely diced onion, minced garlic, and parsley.

    Marinade in a bowl with steaks and a whisk to the side.
  • Into the same bowl add the steaks to the marinade and cover with plastic wrap. You could also add the steaks to a resealable bag and pour the marinade into the bag.

Notes

  1. Start hot. Heat your grill (or cast-iron skillet) to around 500 °F before the steak goes on.
  2. Pat dry. Blot off excess marinade so the surface sears, not steams.
  3. Season. Give each side a quick hit of kosher salt right before grilling.
  4. Oil the grates, not the steak. Swipe a paper towel dipped in oil across the grates to prevent sticking.
  5. Check temp. Pull at 130 °F for medium-rare (or your preferred number).
  6. Rest 5–10 min. Let the juices settle, then slice against the grain and serve.
Grab an instant-read thermometer for fool-proof doneness. Pull the steak off the heat when it’s 3–5 °F below your target; it will finish as it rests.
