This easy avocado toast recipe combines creamy mashed avocado, fresh lemon juice, salt, and pepper on crisp toasted bread. Ready in just 5 minutes for a quick breakfast, lunch, or snack.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ avocado
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • salt and pepper To taste
  • 1 slice sturdy bread

Instructions
 

  • Scoop the avocado into a small bowl and mash with a fork until it reaches your desired consistency. Stir in the lemon juice and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  • Toast the bread until golden brown and crisp.
    1 slice sturdy bread
  • Spread the mashed avocado evenly over the warm toast. Serve immediately.

Notes

How to store leftover avocado

Avocado toast is best eaten right after you make it while the bread is still crisp. If you have leftover mashed avocado, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Press plastic wrap directly against the surface of the avocado to help slow down browning.
