Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Strawberry Puree
  • 4-5 Jalapeno Rounds Optional
  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Lime Juice

Instructions

  • Make the strawberry puree. Add 4 cups of strawberries, ¼ cup of sugar, and one tablespoon of lemon or lime juice to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth. Store leftover puree in a mason jar for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.
  • Make the simple syrup. Add equal parts sugar and water to a saucepan. Bring the sugar mixture to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved. It should take about 5 - 7 minutes.
  • Prepare the margarita glasses. Using a lime, wet the rim of the glass. Immediately after wetting the rim, gently place it onto the plate with salt. Tilt and rotate the glass, pressing the rim into the salt to allow it to adhere. Ensure that the salt covers the rim thoroughly and evenly.
  • To a cocktail shaker, add strawberry puree, tequila, orange liqueur, jalapeno rounds, and simple syrup. Shake or stir until well combined.
1/4 cup Strawberry Puree, 4-5 Jalapeno Rounds, 2 oz Tequila, 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz Simple Syrup, 1 oz Lime Juice
  • Pour margarita into the prepared salt rimmed glasses. Garnish with strawberries and extra jalapenos. Enjoy!

Notes

    • Do not strain out the puree.
    • Fresh lime juice is always best.
    • Add a touch of lime zest to the margarita's salted rim, adding a little "extra" to this fun cocktail.
    • Fill your glass to the rim with ice before adding the simple recipe.
    • If you do not want to make strawberry puree, you can muddle strawberries in the bottom of the cocktail shaker. You may need to adjust the amount of simple syrup used depending on the sweetness of the strawberries.
    • Add a splash of club soda. The bubbles can provide a light and crisp texture when seeking a lighter option.
