Squeeze the juice of one fresh lime into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass.
1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Add rum, simple syrup, and ice cubes to the shaker.
2 oz Light Rum, 1/2 oz Simple Syrup, Club Soda
Strain the mixture into a tall Collins glass filled with ice cubes and top off the glass with club soda, adding enough to fill the glass.
If you are not using a shaker, give the cocktail a gentle stir with a long spoon to combine all the ingredients.
Garnish the drink with a lemon and a cherry and serve immediately.
