Creamy Coleslaw Pasta Salad
This Creamy Coleslaw Pasta Salad combines two summer favorites into one easy side dish. You get the crunchy texture of coleslaw, the heartiness of pasta salad, and a creamy dill dressing that keeps everyone coming back for seconds.

I love a good pasta salad, but sometimes it’s fun to bring something a little different to the cookout. One day, I started thinking about how much I love the creamy, crunchy texture of my creamy coleslaw and wondered what would happen if I combined the two.
After a little testing, this version quickly became my favorite. It’s simple, fresh, and exactly the kind of recipe I want sitting next to burgers and brats all summer long.

Recipe Notes
- Ditalini Pasta – The small tube shape mixes perfectly with the cabbage and creates the ideal bite. Any shape can work, though.
- Coleslaw Mix – One bag keeps prep work quick and easy.
- Fresh Dill – Fresh dill gives the salad its signature flavor. If needed, substitute 1 teaspoon dried dill.
- Celery Seed – A classic coleslaw ingredient that adds just the right amount of flavor.
- Mayonnaise – Provides the creamy base for the dressing. I recommend using real mayonnaise rather than salad dressing.

Jill’s Top Tips
- Cook the pasta just until al dente, so it holds its texture after chilling.
- Fresh dill makes a noticeable difference in both flavor and appearance.
- Let the salad chill for at least an hour before serving.
- Stir the salad before serving to redistribute the dressing.
