WHY I LOVE THIS TASTY BLACKBERRY SYRUP

SIMPLE INGREDIENTS

HOW TO MAKE SIMPLE BLACKBERRY SYRUP

Step 1: In a small saucepan, over medium heat, add 1 lb blackberries, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, and 1 cup of water.

Step 2: Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to a low simmer for 15 minutes. When the sugar dissolves you'll be on your way!

Step 3: Strain syrup through a fine mesh sieve and press the blackberries with the back of a wooden spoon to help release all the juices.  A potato masher works great too. Discard solids or save them and add them to a smoothie!

Step 4: Cool syrup and pour the syrup into an airtight container.
