Why you will love this blueberry vodka lemonade recipe
- This recipe with fresh berries is hard to beat on a hot summer day!
- Blueberries, known for their antioxidant properties, add a burst of vibrant color and a hint of earthiness to the cocktail, making it beautiful and delicious.
- It's truly a simple recipe that is super impressive to serve.
Ingredients

- Blueberry Puree - Make this homemade recipe, or you can also find it pre-made at your local grocery store.
- Vodka - Any type of vodka will work.
- Lemonade - Use my homemade lemonade recipe or your favorite brand from the grocery store.
- Garnish - With a fresh lemon wedge, blueberries, and sprig of fresh mint leaves. Either fresh lemon juice or lime juice brightens up the cocktail.
- Optional - Add ½ ounce of blueberry simple syrup if you like a sweet drink.
How to make blueberry simple syrup
To make the syrup, add two cups blueberries, 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar to a saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to a low simmer for 15 minutes.
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve pressing the blueberries with the back of a spoon to help release all the juices. Pour the syrup into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to two weeks.
This syrup makes the best blueberry martinis!
What is blueberry puree?
Blueberry purée is a mashed or blended pulp made with fresh blueberries. Use a food processor or blender to make the puree. Fresh or frozen blueberries can be used, but it is recommended to use thawed berries.
How to make a blueberry vodka lemonade with step-by-step directions
Step 1: Make the blueberry puree. Add 2 cups of fresh blueberries, ⅛ cup of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth. Store leftover puree in a mason jar for up to 4 days in the refrigerator. Add lemon juice or water if the puree becomes too thick. Frozen blueberries can be substituted for fresh.
Step 2: Mix the cocktail. Add pureed blueberries, vodka, lemonade, and a mint sprig to a cocktail shaker. Shake or stir until well combined.
Step 3: Garnish. Pour the cocktail over a glass of ice and garnish with lemon, blueberries, and mint.

What to serve with a blueberry lemonade vodka drink

I can always find a good excuse for blueberry cocktails!
Cocktail variations
- Change up the alcohol. Use tequila, rum or whiskey to create different blueberry cocktails. If you don't have any mint, try fresh basil leaves.
- Make this blueberry drink a mocktail by omitting the alcohol and adding additional lemonade.
- Add some bubbles with lemon-lime soda or a splash of club soda.
- Add an extra punch of blueberry by using a blueberry-infused vodka.
- Skip the blueberry puree and create a blueberry vodka smash by muddling fresh berries into the cocktail.
- This vodka cocktail would be excellent with peach puree, mango puree, or any other appealing fresh fruit puree.
Make a pitcher ahead of the party
Are you planning a party or happy hour? Make a large pitcher of blueberry vodka lemonade before your guests arrive, and you can sit back and relax with your guests.
Add the ingredients times the number of drinks you would like to make into a pitcher and set it in the fridge to chill. You'll want to stir or add the mixture to a cocktail shaker before pouring it into ice-filled glasses.
Tips for making a blueberry puree cocktail
